As a local family business PPS ( https://www.lancashare.co.uk/directorydetail/business-services/palmer-publicity-services ) thrive off working on local projects. So when Preston Council contacted them looking for signage for the new and highly anticipated Preston Market, they were very excited to be involved with such an iconic building in Preston.
In February this year, the markets had a grand opening after an impressive makeover to the grade-two listed building, including a new glazed interior and roof structure, along with the introduction of outdoor box markets. Whilst the buzz of the market opening was happening, our teams were busy designing the signage, testing materials and manufacturing the finishing touches.
This huge signage project saw them provide over 180 square metres of custom signs to all the trader stalls. From a jeweller; an alehouse; a fishmonger and butchers.
Working tightly to the brief, it was important to ensure the fascia signage complimented the new roof structure. So after sourcing a matt finish aluminium composite in the right shade of grey, they began to manufacture the market signs. Each length was bent to shape on our router to allow the signs to be screwed from the top. This meant the fascia signs had no screws on the front when fitting, to give a seamless finish. Each trader name was then cut from a special antique white vinyl and applied to the fascia.
The next stage of the project was to brand the trendy new box markets outside. This was achieved by using the same special antique vinyl used for the indoor market, which were then cut and installed on-site to the box market.
The PPS teams spent 6 evenings installing the signage and the finished result compliments the magnificent makeover!
The markets are definitely worth a visit for a cup of the finest coffee, a spot of lunch or an after work beer!
