Father and daughter managed business – Mtex – has launched a new online store, ‘Regalo’, sourcing luxury scarves from Italy.
The Lytham-based company has been buying yarn and weaving within the EU for many years. With the onset of ‘Brexit’ there may be concerns for businesses to ‘hold -off’ on establishing new business avenues within Europe, but for Mtex it is quite the opposite. The business recently launched REGALO-online.co.uk, working with specific mills in Italy to design and manufacture high quality scarves for their new gift brand.
Regalo offers luxurious Italian scarves, beautifully wrapped in contemporary and opulent Regalo tissue paper and envelope style gift box; with a personalised greeting card and next day delivery service; providing a complete, hassle-free way to gift. Regalo’s carefully selected Italian partners, like Mtex, are family businesses, who pride themselves on their quality, meticulously finishing each scarf by hand. Only the finest yarns are selected for production, which go through careful finishing procedures to both enhance the quality of the yarn and also the luxurious feel of the scarves. It is the strong tie to Italian soil which makes the scarves so truly authentic and special, and has allowed Regalo to create such a unique brand of scarves.
Explaining more about the new online store, Diana Mcilwham, 33, said: “Having worked within a hectic corporate environment and as a busy mother-of-two, I understand the pressures that we can face every day as busy individuals, and I wanted to develop a gift brand with this in mind. Italy is synonymous with luxury scarf making and we knew that sourcing from Italy would ensure a superlative product. I am absolutely thrilled that we are now online and are able to show off our beautiful scarves and packaging!”
She continued “Regalo, meaning ‘gift’ in Italian, offers scarves wrapped in beautiful tissue paper and envelope style gift box; complete with a personalised greeting card’. Diana added: ‘At REGALO we offer a truly personal and simple service to make gifting hassle -free, and the Italian scarves make the perfect gift. Malcolm’s textile expertise has been invaluable in choosing the right partners and fabrics to work with to create our collections, and we are very proud to be further strengthening ties with our European neighbours.”
Malcolm Harrison, said, ‘despite the current Brexit discussions, for us, working with the EU is simply a case of business as usual. The quality of textiles produced is second-to-none, which is very important to our customers’ and ourselves. He went on to say: ‘We have carefully selected family businesses in Italy as partners who, like ourselves, make every effort to maintain high standards of quality and service. We have been working with companies in the EU for many years and we look forward to continuing to do so in the future’.
