Pawdacious Pet Food Brand Appoints Catapult PR

Lancashire-based PR consultancy, Catapult PR ( ) has scooped an exciting new client in the form of ‘pawdacious’ and fun new, London-based pet food brand, Scrumbles.

Scrumbles is a perfect fit for creative and multi-award-winning Catapult, as this dynamic brand is doing things differently in its sector, by creating a super-nutritious, yet affordable brand, and demonstrating a social conscience by donating 10% of its profits to pet charities.

It is also fully focused on fun with your feline or Fido, recognising that long and happy pet lives require first-class nutritional fuel to be on-boarded. For this reason, it contains a probiotic to help tame tummy troubles and says ‘no’ to nasties, in the form of additives, colours, salt, sugar, pea protein, eggs, dairy, potatoes and lentils.

It’s a no-go area for gluten, is hypoallergenic and also packed to the brim with animal protein from chicken. Omega 3 and 6 are also included, to boost the pet’s brain and eye function and give it a glamorous coat, whilst glucosamine and chondroitin are the perfect support for healthy bones and joints, and brown rice and oats together assist digestion.

The brand is just perfect for PR promotion, having a wonderful story to tell.  It was developed by its creators, Aneisha Soobroyen and husband Jack, who both worked in the pet industry and saw a gap for a values-driven company putting cats and dogs first. After concerns about their pets’ smelly poo, they decided the blame did not lie with feline furry Boo, or playful pooch, Smudge, but with their food.  And thus, a compelling brand was born.

Catapult PR will be telling their story in a variety of fun and fabulous ways, using its experience of promoting human nutrition brands, as well as its pet PR know-how.

In May 2018, Catapult won a national CIPR Excellence Award for the ‘Best Travel, Leisure and Tourism Campaign.’ It also won five PR and marketing awards in November 2017, across three schemes – the Northern Marketing Awards, the CIPR NW PRide Awards and the CIM Northern Awards –  and was shortlisted for a further 10 awards last year.  It is currently shortlisted for a BIBA award, an EVA award and five CIPR PRide NW awards.

Catapult PR moved into a new office in Blackpool in June 2018, just after its 20th anniversary.  It works with clients from London to Northumberland and many places in between and is headed up by Jane Hunt, ex-Ptarmigan director and Marksman PR account director and with a career in-house at British Gas, the South Western Electricity Board and Swinton Insurance in Manchester.  Catapult was the NW PR Consultancy of the Year in 2000 and Small PR Consultancy of the Year in 2005.  In 2011 and 2017, Jane Hunt won the CIPR’s ‘Solo Practitioner’ award in the NW and in 2012 she won the CIPR’s national ‘Best Freelance PR Practitioner’ award.  The consultancy has won 30 top awards since its establishment.
