The hybrid planning application by Preston North End to transform the Ingol Village Golf Course site into a new first-team training facility has been given the go-ahead. The scheme will also see up to 450 homes new homes build and a forest park created.
Preston North End released the following statement shortly after the decision:
“This planning application gives a balanced long term solution to the land at Ingol and will include a substantial area of new public open space as well as the site for our planned new state of the art training facilities.
“In being grateful to the members of the planning committee for their decision we would also especially like to thank the thousands of our supporters who have backed us in this project, and in particular John Kelly who played a crucial role in organising the petition of support that was presented to the City Council.
“We will now start the hard work of turning the planning consent into reality.”
